The automation of the production facilities is indispensable in order to maintain and improve international economic power of today's enterprise. School of Robot & Automation Engineering is training excellent professional and technical personnel Electrical, meeting the needs of newly developed motor industry which is rapidly developing due to the fusion of machinery, electric electronics, and the IT field. School of Robot Automation Engineering manages the Department of Automation System (3 years) and the Department of Robot System (3 years) which are kind of professional bachelor's degree process, and the Department of Automation System Engineering (1 year) which is a kind of bachelor's degree process. The Department of Automation System is run by two majors, Mechatronics and Samsung Semiconductor Equipment, launched the Department of Semiconductor Equipment which is a customized curriculum with SEC in 2006, and operates by having signed a contract to operate 40 semiconductor equipment major students by 2017. School of Robot Automation Engineering consists robots and automation equipment technologies of practice-based education curriculum, and all faculty try to nurture creative manpower using the project type teaching methods.

Fostering junior technicians and managers who will work for and contribute to develop production, operation, maintenance, management, etc. of the automation systems by acquiring automation practical skills and theories related to automation systems, required by industries, made for the realization of automated production processes.

It launched the country's first training program for the era suitable for the fusion of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and computer technology, and has been carrying out a executive ability-centered education that can be applied directly to the industry for about 20 years. It provides a training programs fostering professional technicians of mechatronics field which is necessary in order to achieve automation in all sectors such as production, distribution, circulation, and family life, etc. and of the semiconductor equipment sector in the IT industry(Samsung semiconductor process equipment).

During the mechatronics process, it integrates and educates control technology and mechanical design skills required for the automation system. Also, in the Samsung semiconductor plant processes held by agreement with Samsung Electronics, it educates the design and operation of semiconductor production equipment and facilities. In particular, our department has been operating a 1-year major enrichment process for obtaining a bachelor's degree equivalent to the four-year universities.

It operates project-type education that helps students acquire expertise by themselves through a variety of creative work activities rather than general cramming education. In case of works created by students, excellent works are rewarded by in-campus competitions and in various outside competitions. This project-type education gave students the motivation for achievement, and is receiving a lot of praise from companies that recruited graduates. In particular, it made an agreement to first employ 30 people annually until 2015 with Samsung's semiconductor division. Also it will provide opportunities to demonstrate your skills in outstanding corporatations by expanding a similar process in the future.

The educational goal is to foster professional technicians creative in the relevant field and with sound professional ethics, by systematically educating elements of robot technology, control and the operation program of robots, and robotic application in the ubiquitous environment in order for them to have skills to design and operate intelligent robots that appeared as a new future industry and an industrial robot which is one of the key elements of automation.

This department was established as the bachelor's degree with major deepening process, and is the 1-year course out of the 3 + 1 process which was established in 2008, based on various and high-quality educational experiences in the mechatronics field. For the first time in this country, it established and is operating a multi-disciplinary training program made for integrative education of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and computation fields. It also provides a professional technology education programs in the automation field which is focused on the intelligent robot, one of the nation-developing power industries.
