Change of student visa (D4 → D2)
Required documents
- Standard admission letter (provided by the International Academic Exchange Center)
- Application (Form No. 34)
- Copy of passport, alien registration card
- One passport photo taken within the last 6 months
- Certificate of attendance from the previous school (Obtained from Previous Korean Language School)
- Transcript from the previous school (Obtained from Previous Korean Language School)
- TOPIK transcript (Level 3 or higher)
- Notarized proof of final academic achievement (graduation certificate and transcript from home country)
- Financial proof by a bank in your name and issued within 1 month (20,000USD or more)
- Remittance certificate
- Family Relations Certificate
- Bankbook transaction statement (6 months)
- Documents proving the place of stay (If the contract is not in your name, proof of residence is required)
- VISA change fee 130,000 KRW
If all original documents are written in a language other than Korean or English, a notarised translation must be attached.
Student Visa Extension (D2 VISA)
Required documents
- Standard admission letter (provided by the International Academic Exchange Center)
- Application (Form No. 34)
- Certificate of attendance and transcript of Dongyang Mirae University (Issued from the auto printing machine on the 4th floor of Building No. 1)
- TOPIK transcript (Level 3 or higher)
- Certificate of tuition payment
- Financial proof by a bank in your name and issued within 1 month (10,000USD or more)
- Overseas remittance certificate, Bankbook transaction statement (6 months)
- Family Relations Certificate
- Documents proving the place of stay (If the contract is not in your name, proof of residence is required)
- VISA extension fee 60,000 KRW
Part-time employment report
Who can undertake part-time employment
- Those who have received a language training visa (D-4) or student visa (D-2) six months after entering the country and have been approved by the person in charge of international students at the university.
Application Qualification ans Criteria
- Student Visa (D-2): Up to 1 year within the period of stay, limited to 2 locations
- Students with a GPA of 2.0 or higher and TOPIK level 3 or higher in the previous semester to the application date.
- Language training visa (D-4): up to 6 months within the period of stay, limited to one location.
- Students with an average attendance rate of 90% or higher for the entire semester, and TOPIK level 2 or higher in Korean proficiency.
Available working hours
- A student with a language training visa (D-4) can only work up to 20 hours per week.
- Up to 20 hours per week during the semester, including holidays and vacations. Students under TOPIK level 2 can only work 10 hours per week.
- A student with a student visa (D-4) can only work up to 20 hours per week.
- 20 hours per week during the semester, but unlimited during vacation. Students under TOPIK level 3 can only work 10 hours per week.

In case of violation of regulations related to stay
International students who violate the regulations related to stay may be subject to the following penalties.
- Violation of alien registration.
- Depending on the duration of the violation, a fine from a minimum of 200,000KRW to a maximum of 10 million KRW can be imposed.
- Violation of extension period of stay, violation of permission to change status
- Depending on the duration of the violation, a fine from a minimum of 100,000KRW to a maximum of 20 million KRW can be imposed.
- Violation of part-time work permit conditions
- Depending on the duration of the violation, a fine from a minimum of 100,000KRW to a maximum of 20 million KRW can be imposed.
- Violation of residence place change notification
- Depending on the duration of the violation, a minimum fine of 100,000KRW to 1 million KRW can be imposed.
- Violation of registration change report
- Depending on the duration of the violation, a minimum fine of 100,000KRW to 1 million KRW can be imposed.
- Those who leave without permission while studying or training
- After investigating the situation, the permit may be revoked, followed by forced expulsion.
