1939 ~ 1975
: Founding and Struggle PeriodIn 1939, Chairman Kim Bong-ju rented a 3-story house in Jangsa-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, and established the school with 9 teachers and 18 students (Departments of Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering). A year later, due to pressure from the Japanese, the school moved to 21, Bong-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul (currently the location of Dongyang Middle School). In 1948, to practice national industrialization, he founded Dongyang Institute of Technology and became its first chairman. After Chairman Kim Bong-ju, the school faced financial difficulties and corruption, encountering a crisis.

1976 ~ 1983
: The Second Founding of the SchoolIn 1976, Chairman Cho Hong-je of Hyosung Group took over the school, leading it to significant growth. With the educational philosophy of "Cultivating creative individuals who respect their parents, love their country and people, and serve humanity by honing their knowledge and skills with sincerity and frugality," the focus was not just on the growth of the school, but also on nurturing students to grow into righteous individuals. Chairman Cho, who vowed never to take a penny from the school, made generous investments, and in 1979, Dongyang Institute of Technology was established as a prestigious technical college.
